Lolly

When I went to visit my grandmother I realized that she was so in love with her dog that the best present would be a portrait of Lolly.  Thanks to Gay, I had seen colormutts and loved the way the dogs looked with the red outline and underpainting so I am trying it.  I did a sketch, then painted red around it, though I now realize it would be better to do the red first.  Let it dry and then did a pass with color.  I will let that dry and do another pass tomorrow.

Wow - I think it's looking good. In retrospect, I wish I had coated the canvas of Maggie with red first also. Not that I've worked on it since I did the underpainting - ha! Life is getting back to normal this week so maybe I'll start on it.

Elizabeth, I'm inspired! I can't wait to get back out to my studio!
